Teacher’s pages are a great way for both parents and students to receive information about assignments and events happening in the classroom. In addition, teacher’s websites are also a great place to link other sources and applications for students to access. I have chosen to explore a third-grade class website at Florida State University School.  Upon first entering the website, the public is able to see the teacher’s first and last name and a visual welcoming parents and students to the site. On the left side of the site is a list of tab, for easy navigation to other parts of the website such as an “About the Teacher” page, the third-grade curriculum tab, and a page linking the online textbooks. I think that the curriculum map is especially significant to have on the website because it includes the ELA standards and breaks them down by week and the specific topics being focused on.

I personally envision myself using technology a lot to accomplish my responsibilities more efficiently and effectively because it will give me the ability to have one designated area where all the information in my classroom can be found. I am also an individual who is very big on communication and plan on communicating with my students and their parent’s through my website and maybe even a social media application. Asa result of our society growing into technology, I can only predict that the majority of our future will revolve around technology and I want to be able to use these technological applications to be successful at my job.
After our visit to the technology sandbox, I believe that many of the technologies could be utilized within the classroom with the intentions of furthering students education. One particular technology that I thought was very interesting was the Osmo. This technology is a fairly simple as it has only two parts that need to be placed on an I-pad to create an interactive activity space on the table that reflects onto the I-pad. I am especially interested in using the Osmo within the classroom because it has several different games that focus on different topics, like math, spelling, and even shapes. I am interested in teaching third grade and I believe that using the Osmo within my class would make the process of learning challenging concepts like multiplication and division more interactive and easier to learn.
